Academic Startup Program
Our CEO Maurangelo Petruzzella joined the ScaleNL Academic Startup Competition trip to the US last November.
“Product recall. This is the worst nightmare today in the food industry. It creates a damage of 10 million euros per case. And the reason for that is quality control is inefficient.”

SPOT ON Magazine
A great article in the SPOT ON magazine of the EHIC looking back at January 2022: the month our COO Kaylee Hakkel defended her PhD, and when our article in Nature Communications was published! It describes the development of the spectral sensors that are now at the core of MantiSpectra’s technology.

Holiday Wishes!
As the holiday season approaches, we wanted to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a great winter break! We hope that this time is filled with joy, love, and all the things that make the holiday season special for you.
As we look back on the past year, we are truly grateful to have met all of you, with a special thanks to the wonderful customers, early adopters, and partners ready to embrace a new technology that is going to change how we sense the world around us.
And it’s great to see your enthusiasm:
once you receive our SpectraPod, after each measurement, and the moment of suspense before getting the prediction result. It’s magic.
We built all of this for you! And this is only the start. You are all pioneers. We are on a mission to democratize near-infrared Spectroscopy, to enable everybody to see the invisible world around us.
Now, a final quiz, before the end of the year:
How many microprocessors are used today? And how many spectral sensors will be used in the 2030s?
Have a great 2023!

Optics In 2023 & Beyond
Our COO Kaylee Hakkel was asked to share her vision on the future of photonics for the Optics in 2023 & Beyond article.
US Trip
What a great start today in San Francisco to kick off our US trip with ScaleNL: exploring the city of rebels, tech giants, VCs and Data.
We have beeing inspired by founders, VCs, academics.
It is not surpising to see that these elements are interconnected.
Data is driving innovation, a gigantic collection of information smashed together to understand the world around us.
And then there is our tiny sensor, ChipSense, that with her kilobytes data stream has the power to make sense of the physical world around us.
It’s a matter of time and it’s a promise: spectral sensing will be a fundamental layer of data that will be as universal as gps is today, and guide our choices in our everyday life.
And we are here to meet the rebels that will be part of this revolution.
